Cat House

This is the cat house that Ben made. I painted it the same colors as our house. The kittens love their new home. I think they feel loved.

The update you all were waiting for!

Hi Everyone! I decided it's time to update this page since it won't update itself (unless my sister does it for me.) So, I will give you a quick rundown of recent events.

Most recently, Ben finally was able to get back to work after a long winter of no work, Tori graduated from kindergarten, played baseball, and will be taking swimming lessons and starting soccer camp and soccer all starting next month. She is currently staying with her mom for two weeks. We miss her a lot. We're not use to having her gone this long.

Ben and I are planning on getting sealed in the temple at the end of July and we are very excited for my family to be here for that. We are still waiting for the clearance to come through so we can get sealed.

Last month we planted our garden. We can't wait to taste the fruits (vegetables) of our labor.

On the farm, we have 3 new calves so far this year and the other cows will start calving in July. This coming Saturday, we will be killing chickens. That will be a long day but the tasty chicken will be worth it.

At our house, we now have new grass in our front yard and two apple trees, two plum trees and I will have a cherry tree soon too. I also planted a new shade tree in our back yard.

That's all I can think of right now. So I will post some new pictures now. :)

Tori Graduates from Kindergarten

Tori's class put on a little program before receiving their certificates of achievement. They sang songs and they each had speaking parts.This is Tori with her principal, Mr. Williams.

I must introduce you to my food storage. This is "Pig". Pig is the steer that we killed this year that we are splitting with my parents. Right now Pig, (the whole pig, I mean steer) is in my freezer. He sure tastes good too! My parents will take half of him back to California next month when they come up to visit. I guess you're wondering why I call him "Pig." Well, Pig was always the first one to the manger to eat grain every time we fed the cattle during the winter. His name fits him well.

Wood Ducks

These beautiful, wild, wood ducks were swimming in the canal in our front yard early this spring. Aren't they beautiful?

I had to post a close-up of the male since the males are much prettier than the females. Believe it or not, you can't tell from the pictures but these ducks are really quite small.

Winter Fun!!!

We finally had the right kind of snow to make a snowman so I had to take advantage of it! Most of the time we only get snow that is too dry to make a snowman. This is the first Snowman that I have ever built!

Visiting cousins during Christmas time!

We went to California for Christmas vacation to visit my parents. Luckily my sister was able to come up with her family too before we had to leave to go back home. It was like a small family reunion because we were all together! Here is Tori laying next to Kaylee. Goodnight girls!
